INTRODUCTION

The Nigerian Agricultural Cooperative and Rural Development Bank (NACRDB) Ltd. in its effort to encourage the development of Cooperatives, as one of its mandates provides, is organizing  a 4 days International Workshop on Cooperatives Management.   Nurturing Cooperatives towards operational effectiveness is now more than ever imperative as an effective instrument for attaining Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The workshop aims at preparing Cooperative Managers and operators to effectively manage their Cooperatives in line with best practices, being conscious of the importance of Cooperatives as a TOOL for speedy Economic and Social development.

At the end of the workshop, participants would have been equipped to strengthen the managerial capability of Cooperative Societies, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Community Based organizations (CBOs) for effectiveness in management for sustainable development.  


WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

The workshop hopes to enhance participants’ capacity to strengthen the managerial capability of Cooperative Societies and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) for:

  • Employment creation enhanced and accelerated industrial development as well as income generation of individual Cooperative Societies.
  • Sourcing and accessing funds for projects implementation.
  • Develop strategies for Nigeria’s Cooperative Movement to accelerate contribution to the Country’s economic development and poverty reduction.
  • Enhancement of Cooperative Society’s management capacity to be more productive thereby contribute significantly to the rapid Socio-economic development of the Country

Comfortable hotel accommodation ranging from N5,000.00k to N10,000.00k ($40 - $80) per night abound in Abuja.

 COMPUTER LITERACY ADVOCACY

Recognizing Information Technology (IT) as the tool for World Globalization the lectures are to be presented on CD Rom. The Bank is also collaborating with the Computer for All Nigerian Initiative (CANI) to have Computers; Desktop and Laptop on sale at affordable prices ranging from N55,000.00k to N190,000.00k ($440 - $1520). Discussions on hire purchase can also be made.

 

 WORKSHOP FEES

N35, 000.00 ($280) per Participant. (Group booking for 3 people and above attracts a discount of 5% per Participant, while payment one week before commencement date attracts discount of 2.5% per Participant). Workshop fees cover workshop materials, Tea break and Lunch.
